IARM often receive queries from members of the public about the work that Relationship Mentors do. Below we have collated some of the most frequently asked questions. Many psychotherapeutic approaches exist. Relationship Mentoring is a unique psychotherapeutic and counselling approach to the relief of human suffering.
Relationship Mentors understand that it is the nature of the individual’s own relationship with themselves that determines the nature and quality of the relationship with another.
Relationship Mentors recognise the loving and wise creativity of their clients, who have found protective solutions to their distress, but are now seeking to uncover more conscious ways of living and thriving.
Relationship Mentors focus on providing safe holding, in a non-judgemental and open space, for the client to explore their distress and what may be arising within.
Relationship Mentors provide one to one therapeutic support, to those experiencing distress in different relationship settings, (including, but not limited to, family, school, and workplaces).
Mentors also provide psycho-educational workshops and courses to individuals and groups in the community. and organisations.

A Relationship Mentor will consciously explore with the client, any challenges and experiences of suffering arising for the client.

In a one-to-one Relationship Mentoring session you will meet with another (qualified and professional) human being, who will support, guide, and encourage you to consciously examine how you are experiencing life and help facilitate your emergence from a protective survival mode of living to a place of conscious full living.
Each client will have different needs and the number of sessions which is right for you in particular, will emerge in the relationship with your Mentor.
