Why choose relationship mentoring?

why

Relationship Mentors practice therapeutically in all walks of life, all parts of society and in relation to many different holding worlds (family, school, community, workplace). Relationship Mentors are trained to deal with a wide range of situations and individual challenges, helping people to find ways of moving from a place of surviving to a place of thriving. Relationship Mentors provide therapeutic one to one support to individuals experiencing distress in their lives. The unique training that Mentors have received means that the client has a very unique experience in relationship with their Mentor.

Therapy offers individuals a safe, non-judgemental, confidential space to talk to a University trained and qualified professional about how you are experiencing your life.

strategy

IARM: Accompanying Relationship Mentors as they make a meaningful contribution to the relief of human suffering.

The mission of IARM is underpinned by the knowledge that relationships, within and between individuals, are fundamental to the practice of Relationship Mentoring.

Continuous Personal Reflection

Continuing Personal Reflection on the state of one’s own internal world and engaging in Shared Vision Supervision provide a guarantee of ethical practice.

Responsiveness to the welfare of the Client is reflected by the Mentor working strictly within their parameters of competence and providing services on the basis of adequate training and/or experience.

While it is not a requirement for membership of IARM, it is recognised that CPD is an important and valuable process for mentors to engage in, alongside their ongoing CPR.
Members should be aware that CPD is a requirement for all professional bodies regulated by CORU.
